The first fund, Dymon Asia Private Equity (S.E. Asia) Fund was launched in October 2012, and achieved a final close of SGD 300 million in commitments. The second fund, Dymon Asia Private Equity (S.E. Asia) Fund II had its first close in December 2017, and final close of USD 450 million in commitments in April 2018.
DAPE invests in companies in the lower mid-market space, or Small Medium Enterprises (SME), in Southeast Asia. Investments are tailored to the needs of the companies with a strong focus on meeting long-term objectives. Our investments can be structured as buy-outs, growth capital, recapitalization or through hybrid instruments.

Keith Tan
Keith Tan is Chairman of the Dymon Asia Private Equity Investment Committee and a founding partner of Dymon Asia Capital.
Keith’s focus in Dymon is predominantly in Private Equity, where he has led a number of high-performing investments.
Prior to Dymon, he was a Director at Abax Global Capital, a hedge fund based in Hong Kong, where he originated, structured and executed investment transactions across Asia for Abax’s special situations funds. During his career, Keith was also a member of the Executive Committee of Standard Chartered Bank (China) and Branch Manager of Standard Chartered Bank’s Shanghai Branch.
Keith is presently a serving Council Member in the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Keith graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business (Banking and Finance) with Honors from Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.

Gerald Chiu
Gerald Chiu is a founding partner of Dymon Asia Private Equity.
Gerald has investment experience across a wide range of industries and has led a number of award-winning, landmark deals in the SME space.
Gerald was previously a Partner at Navis Capital Partners, where he focused on control buyout private equity investments in the Asia-Pacific. During his career, Gerald also gained experience at Temasek Holdings, and at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, after returning from a Singapore Public Service Commission scholarship.
Gerald graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with First Class Honors and a Master of Engineering with Distinction from St. John’s College, University of Cambridge.

Tan Chow Yin
Tan Chow Yin is a Managing Partner at Dymon Asia Private Equity.
Chow Yin has investment experience across different sectors including manufacturing, agro-food, consumer products and retail, education, F&B services, aged care, capital equipment and entertainment. He has helped entrepreneurs and management teams grow their businesses and achieved their objectives of IPO or trade sale.
Prior to joining Dymon, Chow Yin was previously a Senior Partner at Navis Capital, where he focused on making and realizing investments in Southeast Asia and China. He also gained experience as a management consultant with The Boston Consulting Group.
Chow Yin graduated with a Master of Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Master of Engineering with First Class Honours from Imperial College London. Chow Yin is also a CFA charterholder.

Thein Shao Ming
Shao Ming Thein is a Managing Director at Dymon Asia Private Equity and has been with Dymon since the fund’s inception. Shao Ming is based in Singapore.
Shao Ming was previously an Investment Director at CVC Capital Partners in Singapore, where he focused on both majority and minority private equity investments in South-East Asia.
Shao Ming also gained experience at Morgan Stanley, the Blackstone Group and Surbana Investments, a subsidiary of Temasek Holdings in Singapore.
Shao Ming graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Imperial College London with First Class Honors, and a Master of Philosophy in Management Studies from Queen’s College, University of Cambridge.

Benjamin Ong
Benjamin Ong is a Managing Director at Dymon Asia Private Equity, based in Singapore.
Ben was previously an Associate in ANZ Bank, Singapore. Prior to joining ANZ, he had also worked with Chanin Capital Partners/Duff and Phelps and CIBC World Markets in Los Angeles.
Ben graduated with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Accounting and Finance from the University of Southern California.

Lee Kher Huan
Kher Huan Lee is an Executive Director of Dymon Asia Private Equity, based in Kuala Lumpur, where she focuses on legal and compliance functions.
Kher Huan was previously a Senior Legal & Regulatory Counsel at Navis Capital Partners. She also spent several years in private practice at SKRINE and Christopher & Lee Ong in Kuala Lumpur.
Kher Huan graduated with a Bachelor of Laws with Second Upper Class Honours, from the University of Reading, and was called to the Malaysian Bar in August 2008.
